Bike Northwest is a wing of Experience International - an educational travel nonprofit headquartered in Bellingham. Bike Northwest offers guided educational bicycle tours through Whatcom and Skagit county - and it's our good luck that they're right in our front AND back yard!
We were fortunate to meet the Madi, the program director at a recent tourism information session. Madi arranged for discounted registration for Mt. Baker Bike Club members on Bike Northwest's upcoming foodie rides, which we've added to our event calendar.
Bike Northwest’s mission is to design local educational bike tours that explore the food systems, watersheds, and natural resources sustaining our community. They're working to connect people with their farmers, promote bike travel, and highlight the individuals and systems dedicated to stewarding our land’s resources.
If you're a member of the Mt. Baker Bike Club, log in to the website and head over to Current Member Offers to find the registration discount code, which will save you $10 on the events this summer.
This summer's tours include:
-
Foodie Fun in Ferndale Ride
- Yummy Lummi
- Eat, Drink & Pick Berries in Everson
- Farm Stand Fresh Skagit Valley Bike Tour
These are social pace rides focused on exploring the farms and foods of the area. The rides are mostly flat and under 20 miles in total. The rides are typically a few hours long with a number of stops to eat, explore, and enjoy the thriving local food scene in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
The tours take place between July 19 and September 14. Some tours are offered on two different days, so check the details on our calendar or the Bike Northwest site.
