In addition to the MBBC's regular Weekly Rides, the club puts on other special rides throughout the year. We partner with other North Puget Sound bike clubs for NPSBA rides.

Cyclists on the North Cascades Highway

MBBC's North Cascades Ride Weekend!

The MBBC often puts together a ride over Highway 20 (North Cascades Hwy). This is a two-day ride: out on Friday, overnight in Winthrop, back on Saturday. If you're interested in making the ride happen in the future, tell your friends and get a group together so we can put it on! We need at least 10 riders and 2 SAG drivers to make the ride happen.

Bill's Hills Century

Bill McCourt’s route of 10,000+ ft of climbing in just over 100 miles around our beloved Bellingham is truly a classic. The ride is open to Mount Baker Bicycle Club members, and if you’re not yet a member, don’t worry, you can sign up at the beginning of the ride. For the price of a $25 membership, you can ride one of – if not THE most challenging centuries in the Northwest. With fully stocked rest stops and great routes, this is the cheapest organized century you will ever do!

The routes are extremely challenging. There are three loops of approximately 30-40 miles with 3,000 to 4,000 feet of climbing each. Just think Sehome Hill, California Street, King Mountain, Emerald Lake, Squalicum Mountain and – well you get the idea – just about every known hill in the Bellingham area. Ride one loop or ride them all, it is up to you.

Black Friday Ride

Black Friday Ride

Avoid the shopping pandemonium - get out for a ride instead!

Meet at 10am on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, for a road ride to Ferndale and back (or further depending on energy of riders and weather).

Start at 10am on "Black Friday" at Cornwall Park by the Meridian Street entrance. Details about the ride will be posted a couple weeks before Thanksgiving.

Lighted Neighborhoods Winter Ride

Let’s spread some cheer together on two wheels, listen to holiday tunes and view some great decorative yard lights in some of Bellingham’s neighborhoods.

Put some lights on, decorate yourself and your bike (battery-powered festive lights are available at Big Lots among other places), bundle up and be jolly with the MBBC!

New Years Day Ride

Pedal in the new year, every January 1st.

Meet 10am, depart before 10:30am from Fairhaven Park for the Old Edison Inn where owners John and Lynn will be expecting us. We can park our bicycles in the beer garden and enjoy the warmth inside. Friends and family are also invited to join us at the Old Edison Inn for lunch at about 11:30am, even if they don’t ride.

No one will be left behind on this group ride!

We pedal 13.8 miles along Chuckanut Drive. Return the same way or via Colony Road and Lake Samish, or even Bow Hill Road to start your year off steep!

Each year this ride attracts a large group of participants, regardless of the weather. Start your year off with the MBBC.
