Schedule for the 2024 Chuckanut Classic

Schedule subject to slight changes.

Check in opens at 7 a.m.

Registered riders will receive their bib number, socks, stickers, and coupons at check in. We're not mailing them out beforehand.

You can self-service register on the day of the ride!

  1. Use your computer or mobile device from home or just standing around in a field - wherever you're most comfortable and have internet access. \
  2. Visit chuckanutclassic.org and hit the "Register" button.
  3. Complete the information and payment.
  4. Then go to the line for day-of registrations, and we'll look you up and get you on the road.

Century

Century riders (100 mile distance) may leave together at 7:30 am. The road doesn't open until 7:30 (this means support vehicles and rest stops will not begin until 7:30 am) so please don't start earlier. If you would rather not start with a large group, feel free to wait until the first wave leaves and get on the road at 7:45am.

Metric Century

Metric century riders (62 mile distance) may leave together at 8:30 am. If you would rather not start with a large group, feel free to wait until the first wave leaves and get on the road at 8:45am.

43 Mile

43 mile riders: may leave together at 9:30 am. If you would rather not start with a large group, feel free to wait until the first wave leaves and get on the road at 9:45am.

25 Mile

25 mile riders: may leave together at 10:00 am. If you would rather not start with a large group, feel free to wait until the first wave leaves and get on the road at 10:15am. 25-milers will head north to the Ferndale rest stop, then return.

10 Mile Family Fun

Guided Family Ride leaves at 10:30 am. Everyone on this ride will leave together and ride together with ride leaders helping on the road. Please be at the start at 10:15 am with your bike tires pumped up and bike ready to ride so we can leave on time. With our several planned stops along the way, this ride will take a couple hours.

Directions

The ride start and registration is at the Portal Container Village at 298 W Laurel Street in Bellingham, WA.

The registration area is just off the intersection of the two roads - Granary Avenue and W Laurel Street. Look for the mini-golf course. There is a small grassy area just northwest of the Portal Village adjacent to the mini-golf course.

Parking

The Cyclocratic Oath: first, do no park....

If you are able, please ride your bike to the start! There is parking, but let's celebrate cycling the best way we know how!

If you are driving to the start, there is parking in a gravel lot adjacent to registration, as well as curb parking along the street nearby.

But be aware! Saturdays are Farmer's Market downtown not too far away. If you are coming for an early start, you should be okay. If you are coming for a later start or the Family Fun Ride, either consider not driving, or plan for having to park further off.

Start/finish Refreshments

The Trackside Container Village is here to meet all your hungry and thirsty needs when you get back from the ride. Please take some rest and enjoy all the local food and drink vendors at the Bellingham waterfront.

Dan Henrys

Whatcom County and Skagit County get real sporty, so there are a lot of pavement markings for other events. Do not be fooled!

The Chuckanut Classic uses a distinct "C" shaped Dan Henry.

Dots in the "C" indicate routes:

  • A red dot indicates southern AND northern loops of the 100-mile Century.
  • A red dot ALSO indicates the southern 43-mile route
  • A blue dot indicates the Metric Century route
  • A green dot is the 25-mile northerly route
